Hello My name is Yasser i'm 26 years old from Algeria (north africa) My PC configuration : - MSI Z77 GD 65 Millitary Class 3 motherboard - PCU Intel i7-3770 Not - K serie - 1To HDD WD - 128 Go Intel SSD - 16 G of RAM Kingstone Hyper X (4x4Go) 2133 Mhz - Cooler Master X6 CPU cooling system - Cooler Master HAF 932 Case - Cooler Master 725watt Extrem 2 Power supply - MSI ATI R7970 Lightning series graphic card Q1- i overclocked the CPU to 4.2 Ghz i can go to 4.3Ghz, for the OCing the CPU i didn't change te BCLK frequency it's fixed at 100Mhz as a default value my multiplier was not locked, whene i search a litle in the Web & forums i found that the i7-3770 Non-K had a multiplier that can go to 4.3Ghz with the Z77 - GD65 Millitary Class 3 - first i pultiplier it x39 i tested it with CPU-Z & the result was just WOOOW i find that my CPU was at 3.9Ghz so i continued to level it up to 4.2 Ghz with Auto Core Voltage , in the BIOS it's say Current CPU frequecy 4.2Ghz but whene i test it with CPU-Z it show that i'm just at 4.1 Ghz it can't go more then this ?? if you can tell me why please Q2- i did the 3Dmarck11 test in performance mode i scored with 4.2Ghz & 1070Mhz GPU & 2133 MHZ XMP profil active P10325 points & X3321 on Extrem mode - then whene i reduced the CPU to 4.1 Ghz & 1070Mhz GPU & 2133 MHZ XMP profil active i scored P10338 Points & X3351 on extrem Mode, so why whene i reduced the CPU the score get higher ?? & tell me please if why score is Good or Bad ?? Q3- whene i play call of duty or need for speed Most Wanted 2012, medal of honor in Ultra Mode with resolution of 1920x1080p with a CPU of 4.1Ghz GPU 1070Mhz & XMP profil at 2133 Mhz it's so smooth & i have FPS between 45 to 70 Frame/s & with Flight Simulator X it's reach between 85 to 150 FPS but whene i play Battlfield 3 or far Cry 3 it lag every 5 second & it's disturbing me, like i'm loosing FPS every 5 second so can you tell me why & how can i solve this problem please ?? Q4- i would like to overclock my GPU to 1110 Mhz & to 6004 Mhz of memory frequecy just like the GTX 680 Lightning performance but i'm litle warried, first i don't know if my power supply will give me enaugh power to do this overclocking & i don't know how can i do that cause i don't know how to use after burner (how much voltage core & stuff like that....), so can you help me please ?? tkx & i'm realy waiting for your repply Wink have a great night & keep me updated Kind Regards Yasser

It's not a K-series chip, lucky you got 4.1—maybe tweak some BIOS settings to reach 4.2, otherwise it might hit limits. A higher score at lower speeds often means instability causing minor miscalculations. Lowering the overclock could improve stability, especially for demanding games that tax multiple cores. As an AMD system with a catalyst installed, adjust the graphics overdrive in performance settings, set power limits to 120%, and boost clock speeds. Don't change voltages unless necessary; run stress tests like Furmark or MSI Kombustor to confirm stability.

You might not realize you can boost non-K series CPUs using the multiplier, as there are unlocked models (k-series), partially unlocked ones like yours, and locked variants. You can push limited unlocked CPUs up to four speed levels higher than their maximum turbo clock by using the multiplier—just ensure turbo is turned off afterward. This applies to devices such as the i5-2500/i7-2600/i5-3350p/ect. One key adjustment you need to make right away is disabling auto voltage, which supplies unnecessary excess power that can damage your CPU over time. I recommend checking out a TTL tutorial on LGA 1155 overclocking for more details.

I stumbled upon this. Is it the earliest troubleshooting thread?
