GPU uses AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, CPU is i5-9400f at 2.9GHz. Motherboard is ASUS ROG Strix B360-F. Occasionally my monitors shut down completely and a "no display" message appears. I’ve had this happen for months, sometimes daily, and occasionally for weeks. After a black screen, I heard a disconnect sound similar to unplugging a mouse. When I restarted the PC, Task Manager showed GPU 0 instead of GPU 1, and it wasn’t listed in the Processes tab. I suspect it’s not just overheating since temperatures rarely exceed 70°C during use, usually staying between 60-68°C. I’m unsure if the GPU is failing or if another issue exists.

Have you attempted to reset your GPU drivers using DDU and update them to the newest versions? Also, checking the Event Viewer logs might provide further details.

I haven't tried DDU yet but i have checked event viewer logs and i don't really know what to check there tbh but i have checked "hardware events" and nothing is there but in "system" right before black screen i see only warnings from DistributedCOM source

These warnings usually mean a service can't reach a remote server. Check DDU to compare behavior.

I completed the installation now and I’m hoping it won’t cause a black screen anymore, though I still don’t get why my GPU number changed from GPU 1 to GPU 0 in the Task Manager.

It seems the settings might have been altered during a Windows update or background change. GPU 0 typically handles built-in graphics, while GPU 1 is for a dedicated card. The i5-9400F lacks integrated graphics, so it should automatically use your dedicated GPU. On my machine, GPU 0 appears correctly without issues.

Sure, just to clarify, thanks for the assistance—hopefully it won’t cause another black screen, right?

It happened quickly, and it got black-screened once more.

Sure, I can attempt to use a different PCIe slot on the motherboard.
