To give you better insight, I’m currently billed for a 300Mbps connection that performs reasonably well on most of my devices except my PC. My setup uses a Netgear Nighthawk R6900P router. The issue seems to be on my PC side. I’m running a NZXT N7 B550 motherboard and prefer wireless internet over wired connections. While phones or other devices often reach those speeds, mine usually stays in the low single digits. Using the 5GHz band on my desktop causes frequent drops, usually lasting no more than two minutes without a stable link. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, rolled back some updates, performed numerous reboots and network resets, even swapped out another PCIe card—which still didn’t help much. The frustration is real; I’ve lost connection five times just writing this post, and it feels like my network card is mocking me. I’m really struggling and feel like I’ve run out of options, missing gaming sessions and multiplayer experiences. Any advice or support would mean a lot to me.

How close is your computer to the Wi-Fi router? Devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops typically have stronger signals because their antennas perform better. The 5 GHz band sends signals over shorter distances, which means if those signals weaken, it’s likely a connectivity problem rather than a distance issue.

It's around 15 feet max, just across a wall. Distance doesn’t seem to be the issue—I usually get full bars, and speeds can reach 230Mbps even without getting stuck in single-digit or disconnection problems.
