my pc specs are a ryzen 2600, b450m aorus, 2x8gb 3200mhz patriot viper, gtx1660, nvme wd sn550 1TB. I assembled it back in 2021 and considered it a budget build at the time. The first time i turned on tpm to install windows 11 it functioned perfectly... Now it doesn’t work at all. Yes, ftpm is active, csm is off, security boot is enabled, security management is turned on via trusted computing, and i removed all gigabyte bloatware. There’s no logical reason it shouldn’t work. It triggers a bluescreen error stating winload.efi failed or similar. The most frustrating part is that it doesn’t matter whether the nvme is formatted or not, even without a drive at all—it still produces the same error. Plus, in device manager there are two unknown usb devices that have been unresolved for a long time, and i can’t tell if they’re related to tpm. I originally wanted to enable tpm so i could try valorant, but now i’m stuck on the 23h2 windows update, and i’m unsure if the missing tpm is the issue.

Bluescreen refers to a Windows issue. It’s impossible to trigger without using Windows. Confirm it isn’t starting from a USB device. Windows 11 needs TPM enabled.

I resolved it—it might have been a motherboard issue. I reinstalled an older BIOS, which fixed the problem, then upgraded back to the newest BIOS and it worked fine. Yes, without a boot drive it was showing bluescreens.
