Issues with the Wraith cooler
I recently replaced my motherboard with the B550 model, installed a new Ryzen CPU, RAM, and power supply. Essentially, I assembled a brand-new PC. It’s performing well without any problems. Recently, I heard a noise, so I examined everything while the system ran under a light. Under the spring screws of the Wraith cooler, there’s another screw or possibly a bearing that wobbles when the PC is on and makes a sound as it moves. All components are functioning properly, but I’m concerned about potential future issues. A couple of days ago I tightened the cooler screws and double-checked for any wiring issues, but it seemed okay temporarily. Now it’s started again, and I’m unsure why. Should I just ensure the screws are fully tightened? My motherboard is an MSI B550m Pro vdh with a 3600 CPU.
You only have to tighten the screw until it creaks, no need to go all the way. If you still have wobble, you can use a rubber or steel washers.
Thanks for the update. The CPU remains stable, it doesn’t shift much. It seems the metal displacement comes from the spring screws below. Is this typical behavior, and would you need to replace washers?
