Issues with the latest installation might be related to the memory module.
Hello everyone, I recently assembled a new computer and am facing some issues. Here are the details:
Specs: MSI MPG x570 Gaming Edge Wifi RTX 2070, SUPER Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB RAM, 3600MHz, G.Skill memory (F 4 - 3 6 0 0 C 1 6 D - 3 2 G T Z N C), 850W power supply (Old XFX).
First issue: When I run Prime95, rounding errors keep appearing.
Second issue: My computer restarts randomly without any blue screen or freezing. It doesn’t freeze but just powers off unexpectedly. I tested various tests in Prime95, and the errors only occur during Large FFT or Blend operations. This suggests memory instability might be the cause.
I tried using 16GB RAM, adjusted timings, ran at different frequencies (including 2133MHz), but the problems persist. Errors seem to appear within minutes, sometimes even under 5 minutes.
Regarding the second problem, random reboots without a blue screen or freezing could be linked to memory issues rather than power supply faults. The old PSU worked fine in my previous setup, even when I overclocked. I also used the RTX 2070 SUPER in an older build without problems, so that’s unlikely.
I’m considering replacing the RAM with another set to see if it resolves the issue. Any suggestions or alternative tests you recommend to identify the root cause? Thanks!
My temperatures are normal. The processors maintain around 70°C during a stress test and while gaming. The graphics cards stay near 68°C in the game.
