Issues with the GTX 1080ti when running Forza Horizon 4 have been reported.
Hello, I’m trying to get your assistance.
I’ve observed that lately, whenever I play Horizon 4, the fans on my EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU are running quite loudly.
GPU Fan Speed: begins at 2200rpm and increases up to 3200rpm when under load (0 rpm at idle/general PC use)
GPU Temperature: starts at 79°C and climbs to 84°C when under load (40°C at idle/general PC use)
I’ve rolled back the Nvidia drivers in steps from the latest (430.86) down to (425.31), performing a clean install each time, but the results remained consistent after each change. I also installed and later removed GeForce Experience without any noticeable difference.
Additionally, I had Corsair’s iCUE software and EVGA’s Precision XOC installed, thinking they might be contributing to the problem. However, even after uninstalling them, the issue continues. I don’t have any other monitoring tools set up.
I frequently play several games (including Lockheed Martin Prepar3D V4.5, X-Plane 11, Star Wars Battlefront II, Battlefield V, Call of Duty: WWII, Shadow of the Tomb Raider) and they don’t cause similar GPU issues.
My PC specifications are:
Intel Core i7 - 6700K CPU @ 4.0GHz,
ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero Z170 Motherboard,
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 GAMING 11GB GPU,
G.Skill Ripjaw 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM.
I’ve opened a support ticket with Forza Community Support but am seeking advice from others.
My main concern is whether my GPU could fail if I keep running under these conditions.
Please let me know if you need more details.
Best regards,
Keith.
While browsing the Forza Horizon 4 settings, I noticed a Dynamic Optimisation option that I had turned off. After turning it on, everything appears to be functioning properly, with temperatures and RPM within normal ranges! Hope this fixes my problem! Keith.
