I'm experiencing issues with my front panel power switch. Sometimes the button won't activate the PC when entering sleep or off mode without a complete shutdown. I'm trying to unplug, inspect, and then plug it back in to see if that resolves the problem. I'm wondering if using a better grip tool would help, since the switches are small and delicate. Would parallel pliers or something similar be suitable?

You can shift the connector side back and forth while pulling away from the connector/headers on the motherboard. Just a note, you may wish to rethink pointing the finger at the switch. Likely, board/system configurations aren't configured to wake from sleep.

It's likely that board or system configurations aren't configured to wake from sleep.
Occasionally it does wake, other times it doesn't. The same applies to the off mode.

You may wish to include a video of your connector/case front panel just in case you encounter anything unusual....
Alright, I'll do it tomorrow... I'm getting ready to sleep. Thanks.

A simpler method to verify the switch is to employ a multimeter set to resistance mode. Take out the switch's two-prong header from the motherboard and attach one probe to each pin of the plug. It should display OL, showing no conductivity. Then press and hold the power button switch. The meter should show 0, indicating complete conductivity. If this happens, the switch and wiring are correct, and the issue must be elsewhere.

Initially verify that the front panel power switch pair are firmly linked to the motherboard front panel header pins. Check the power on/off feature by connecting the two pins together. If it functions properly, the issue likely lies with the switch or cables. Your case maker might offer a replacement part. As an alternative, consider purchasing a remote front panel switch from the provided link.

When the internal connections appear satisfactory, reach out to Phanteks customer support to obtain a replacement panel.
