Hey guys i have just started to play BF4 again since there has been more DLC and to my surprise i have been getting really bad FPS with my GtX 780 3gb PNY card. I get around 45 FPS no matter what setting i put it on and im super confused i used to get around 90- 70 on high settings
Restart the drivers. Check temperatures, clocks, usage, and CPU status.
The latest update has reintroduced rubber banding, caused FPS drops, and introduced several other issues. DICE has acknowledged the problem exists and is investigating it, though they typically shift blame to players in subsequent posts. You can find more details here: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/for...1512481/63. The DICE representative in that discussion will switch between accusing and admitting fault depending on the conversation. Some players, like myself, often resort to playing at low settings to achieve acceptable frame rates. I’ve switched between Ultra and low performance every time a new patch is released.
However, my FPS remains steady even when switching between low and high settings; I only see a small change around 5 FPS.
It varies a lot from person to person. Some individuals face no issues or only minor concerns, while others struggle with significant challenges. The sheer variety of hardware, software, and driver setups on PCs complicates achieving smooth performance. Even those with a GTX780 sometimes encounter FPS problems, as success depends not just on power but on the specific combination of components and their configurations.
Your CPU is the main limiting factor, not the GPU. The 8350 can only handle a certain amount of data at once and pass it to the GPU, which means your FPS will stay consistent regardless of settings. That’s what I’ve come to understand. The same applies to me.
