Hello, I'm having issues with my C49RG90 that I just purchased off of eBay. This is a photo of what I'm currently experiencing. This happens for a while, then disappears for some time, then reappears later. Time in between this glitching ranges from a few hours to a few minutes. Things I've tried: - Switching to different modes - Factory resetting - Using Self Diagnosis Tool - Updating to version 1001.1( for some reason 1007.2 is not a valid version for this monitor? super weird) Things I have not tried due to lack of access: - Display Port Things I've determined(not 100% sure but best guesses) - Not due to graphics card (persists when Display Port cable is unplugged) - Not due to panel (disappears every few moments) - Maybe some firmware rendering bug(Monitors usually render top down but since the monitor is so long it might render sideways? also not sure if rendering is the proper term here either. Just a guess) I've found one person on Reddit that's encountered this issue but has had no luck, was forced to send it back to Samsung which id rather not do, since I'd have to contact the seller for warranty information. Seller said that issue had never happened before. The item was essentially unused. Next time this happens I will try to get a video and attach it as well. Would love some help. Thanks! Edit: Heres a video of the issue. For some reason changing the black equalizer changes the severity of the tearing. No clue why. https://imgur.com/a/wEi0z7m Edit2: I unplugged the Displayport cable in the back to switch to HDMI as suggested below. The back was extremely hot. Currently running on 60hz with an HDMI cable, will continue to update as things happen.

It feels like a vague instinct, though I could experiment with another wire. The vibe suggests a partial link.

I attempted to resolve it, but the problem continues even without the cable connected. I'm using DisplayPort now and considering HDMI. The updated version with a video of the issue has been posted. Please let me know if this assists.

The problem might continue even after unplugging the cable because there could be an internal issue within the monitor that’s harder to resolve. Also, the video source might not be connected properly. Updated: September 2, 2022 by Bombastinator

I don't get it either. You can just unplug the output—there will be a cursor or similar, and the problem will persist. That's really strange. Next time I'll try again. Also, I just changed from DisplayPort to HDMI: first, the port felt very hot, possibly overheating; second, HDMI only supports 60Hz, which is just a temporary fix—I'll keep you posted.

It clearly points to an issue with the monitor. The equipment appears faulty, likely due to damaged solder connections that are hard to detect.

In short, I should make use of the warranty. However, it seems the problem with the HDMI cable has ceased for now.

It’s just one port at a time. I’d likely go ahead regardless, but ask for the replacement first so you don’t have to wait for shipping. Unless you bought it in person, you could bring the old one along and install the new one yourself, finishing everything in about an hour. There are clear benefits to doing it that way.

I purchased this on eBay at a very good price. I contacted the seller, who offered assistance with a replacement. It might take some time because I need it urgently for work and don’t have other monitors. I plan to switch to a different display port and see if that works. Thanks for your support. If any further issues arise, I’ll file another case or reopen it. Thanks!
