while playing world of warcraft my system would freeze completely on both screens, then restart instantly. screen 2 would appear again without any issues, but the whole time it stayed black. i could still hear sounds and move around while staying on the screen. if i clicked elsewhere it would come back, but once i returned it disappeared again. i own a brand new build, so i’m listing my specs below. this isn’t an overheating problem; i’ve stress-tested both cpu and gpu simultaneously. my gpu stays around 57°C while the cpu reaches about 61°C.

cpu: 9800x3d (not overclocked)
gpu: xfx 9070xt
ram: 64 GB gskill neo (6000) will be reduced to stock 4800
motherboard: tuf b850 plus wifi
memory: 4tb samsung m.2 gen 4
psu: corsair RM1000x
aio: corsair titain link
monitors: samsung g5 144hz

sn:
LC27G55TQWNXZA

amd drivers version: 25.5.1
windows 11
wow settings: direct x12
graphics setting 8
gpu selected is 9070xt
playing default resolution
144 fps

benchmark tests show everything works smoothly for over ten minutes with full gpu/cpu use. i also experienced random "access violation" errors during these sessions, but they didn’t occur while the screens were black. this build came from an official Windows 11 Pro flash drive—first time I got it, which is necessary if we plan to use a personal computer for work. don’t worry about that, lol.

The motherboard is current. I reduced my RAM speed and everything is functioning properly. It seems my system isn't accepting higher RAM speeds. The reason isn't clear to me.

execute memtest
what ram modules are connected?
could be related to compatibility; after a bios update later, it may function overclocked.

Just confirming again. The bios are version 1028. It seems the person didn't like the increased RAM speeds. They mentioned a Discord friend had the same problem when they sped up, and the issue disappeared once they reduced the speed.
