Issues with the ASUS PCE-AC56
I purchased the AC56 from ASUS, but my mind was focused on an upgrade when in reality I was preparing for a loss. This device operates only when it chooses to, I’ve tried every quick fix suggested by experts, yet sometimes it works and other times it fails. The Windows troubleshooter indicates the default gateway isn’t available. Now my internet is fine on other gadgets, while my Wi-Fi runs 802.11n at 5GHz. I’ve adjusted power settings, manual configurations, and explored WINS, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers—even switching from Windows 10 to 8.1 drivers. When it finally connects, it’s a small victory. It seems to function without issues with my phone hotspot. My current issue is accessing the router or modem from a ski resort chalet hotel. I also swapped the PCIe slots, but the same problem persists—connection claims true, yet nothing happens. And when it’s almost ready, it warns “can’t connect to this network.” I’m stuck; my assumption is that the local internet might reject this adapter or vice versa. I’m using the newest 64-bit Windows 10 version, and after trying everything, I’m at my limit.
Yes, the Xbox, old wireless adapter, and phones are all functioning properly.
