Issues with the ASRock G41M-VS3 GPU have been reported.
Hello everyone, welcome! I'm just starting out on the forum and trying to find the right place to post. Last night my uncle gave me an old PC with a Pentium D 945 (now overclocked to 4GHz), 4GB DDR3 RAM, a 450W power supply, and a GT 315. I had a P106-90 in it, but inserting that card didn't work at all. I already set the main GPU as the built-in one, but it won't function properly. The voltage looks correct at 11.98V in the connector. Maybe the motherboard is too old, or I'm missing something? I've noticed a similar board with the same chipset working on another system, which makes me wonder why mine isn't compatible. The PCI bus clock is set to 100MHz. Thanks for the info!
Have you attempted resetting the clock? It may not be reliable. Additionally, is the computer powering on but failing to show anything or completely shutting off?
Yes, I'm getting tired of the default settings. The computer powers on and after about 5 seconds it shuts off. Then it turns back on again and stays on without any display or post. I'll test it with my 580 later to check if the issue is with the P106 or the motherboard. Edited June 18, 2023 by miki130504
Sounds like a stabliity issue. Ye I would tr y a different cpu if you can’t go back on the oc
It seems the issue might be more about the motherboard than the GPU. Asrock Z68/77 would likely dislike the 9500GT and might trigger a D6 error. Even if you flash the BIOS to a Z68 fatal1ty, it won’t fix the problem. You could try using a PCI debug card to verify booting. This approach is safe because if the BIOS fails, you can just replace the original ones. It’s a risk-free solution given the age of the hardware and the limitations of the G41 chip compared to newer models.
