Here begins my setup: a 5800x CPU, EVGA 3080 graphics card, a Lian Li O-11 cooler, and a Lian Li 360 AIO case. The system was fully assembled at the start of last year, with temperatures kept close to optimal during intensive tasks. Recently, while playing Hunt: Showdown, I noticed my PC running hotter than expected. Upon checking Ryzen Master, the CPU temperature jumped to 95°C. I immediately shut it down, checked the settings, and found everything default. I adjusted fan curves and pump curves for more aggressive cooling, reapplied thermal paste, and rechecked everything. After undervolting to 1.2V with a target speed of 4.0, the temperature still reached around 85°C. Now I’m wondering what else I might be overlooking.

According to the documentation, everything is functioning properly, though the BIOS remains stuck at 40°C.

I'd like to show a screenshot of Ryzen Master in Advanced Mode while the system is idle. A CMOS reset wouldn't hurt much. It seems the AIO might be blocked, and you can definitely notice a temperature variation between the tubes. This approach isn't very informative, but it's something to try. Better to re-seat it with fresh paste just to be sure.

The temperatures reported suggest AVX instructions are likely involved. ^^^ Your pump should operate at full capacity during those conditions. Most AIOs include tools to monitor fan speeds, pump performance, and coolant temperatures under stress. AMD states the 5800X can safely reach up to 90°C, so regularly hitting 95°C isn't expected to damage it, though it may shorten its lifespan.

While using cinnebench my readings increased to 105°C, and it didn't even slow down after just 15 seconds.

I already removed the CMOS before adjusting the voltage, but it didn’t work. That’s why I resorted to voltage reduction.

CMOS is already approved, the new paste was replaced. I notice a change in the tube temperatures.

If your board resembles many Intel designs, it might automatically disable certain restrictions to boost performance. According to AMD’s statements, these processors can reach up to 90°C during operation, which enables longer boost periods. Exceeding this limit isn’t meant to happen; likely the problem lies with your AIO setup. It could be due to poor mounting (not effectively drawing heat from the CPU) or a faulty cooler (radiator not functioning properly). Pump-related issues are common causes of failure—usually pump speed readings under load help diagnose. You can test it by using a standard screwdriver, positioning the tip against the CPU and turning the handle near your ear. This mimics bone conduction headphones, letting you sense vibrations from the pump. If this doesn’t work, the pump is likely dead. EDIT: That sounds like a clog or pump malfunction; coolant temperature should remain consistent around the entire system if it’s flowing correctly.
