Hello, I’m facing a serious problem with Helldivers 2. It’s almost impossible to play without running into issues. Around 20 to 30 minutes in, my computer crashes completely—monitors go dark instantly, fans spin wildly, and the machine stays on despite being unresponsive. I can still chat with friends on Discord, but I have to shut it down manually after about ten minutes before it restarts itself. This has happened frequently since June or July. I’ve already returned my MSI RTX 4080 Ventus 3X OC via RMA, and it’s been working fine since August. Recently, while trying to play Helldivers 2, the crash started almost immediately. I’ve tried many fixes: updated cables, changed power settings, adjusted thermal limits, underclocked the GPU, used different drivers, disabled XMP, removed display software, and even ran stress tests. The system stayed stable—no crashes, no overheating, and performance remained solid. Still, the issue seems locked to this game. I’ve attached a DxDiag file for reference.

Which power supply are you using? Have you verified every temperature reading, including CPU, GPU, VRM, VRAM, and SSD? The CPU-Z stress test performed was on the less powerful end; consider running prime95 with a small FFT for improved results.

Avoid using extension cables.

PSU is a Corsair RM850X. I also completed a prime95 stress test and a furmark test at the same time for 30 minutes. The GPU stayed under 80% load, CPU throttled around 100°C, but everything remained functional during both tests. HWiNFO was used to capture a log while testing. VRM temperatures reached a maximum of 73°C. I have several SSDs installed in different spots, but the highest temperature recorded was 70°C. The GPU hotspot reached about 110°C, though some sources mention a limit of 125°C for my card. I don’t see a reading for the VRAM temperature, but the memory junction stayed at 56°C.

Sure, just take out the cable and use the original equipment provided with your PSU or GPU.

It's quite warm out there. I noticed a clear trend, though I'm not sure about the riser. Could you share the complete specifications? That way, we can understand the hardware without having to analyze it repeatedly.

The component operating at 70°C is positioned close to the graphics card. It isn't my primary boot drive and contains nothing beyond games. If the drive's temperature was responsible for the crash I mentioned, it would occur outside of HD2. This doesn't happen when I run other games for extended periods or during stress tests. I'm not using a riser either. The Cablemod cable isn't an extension; it's a direct connection from the power supply to my GPU. The DxDiag file is linked in the original post. The only additional detail missing is that my motherboard is an ASUS Z690-P WIFI.

It’s strange when folks ask for assistance and you suggest possible reasons, only to have them ignore it. That’s not the process of fixing things. The system is overheating significantly.
