Issues with Steam software
hello everyone, this afternoon i encountered some steam issues. when i try to launch a game like garry's mod or tf2 and want multiplayer, i can't locate any server. if i right-click the steam icon in my tray and select servers, it shows no servers on another pc but lists 3000. i've already tried disabling my firewall, turning off my antivirus, and adding my games and steam to the firewall for access, yet nothing works. anyone have any ideas or help? thanks, jelle
I will check the available options carefully.
Since no servers are currently listed, I won’t encounter any issues.
I don't understand much, just suggest using the site http://www.serverbrowser.com/ to find your IP, then enter it in the game's console as "connect server_IP*"
I tried to clarify your situation. It seems there might be some confusion about how to connect or access the server. The command you mentioned, "connect 192.223.26.74:27015," appears to be a specific setup step, but it’s unclear if it was entered correctly in the console. You also suggested checking the small icon next to the server's IP address on the website http://www.serverbrowser.com/ as an alternative method. Regarding the game issue, it’s possible that using a pirated version could affect server compatibility or availability. If you’re unsure, double-checking the game’s official sources or support channels might help resolve this. Let me know if you’d like further guidance!
i'll attempt it, but i downloaded the game from steam and a friend's copy from kinguing.net as well as league of legends.
The only idea that comes to mind is your DNS configuration possibly blocking the connection. I'm navigating to control panel > network and internet > Network and sharing center > (left) change adapter settings > right click your internet input > properties > in the small list select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click once, then choose "properties". Now confirm "Use the following DNS server addresses": enter 8.8.8.8 in the Preferred DNS field, and 8.8.4.4 in the Alternate DNS field (these are Google's servers, safe to use). After that, click "validate settings upon exit" and press OK before exiting. Once done, your network should reconnect automatically. Restart your game and attempt to locate the internet game servers again.
