I'm sharing my initial post here, unsure if this is the appropriate location. If not, I'm ready to move it. I've been attempting to use my PowerA Pro Wired Controller with Steam Big Picture from a laptop running Ubuntu. The system on my laptop doesn't display the controller in settings, even though I borrowed a Nintendo wireless Switch Pro Controller from a friend—it worked perfectly there. Steam immediately recognized it, but not my PowerA one. I've tested various Linux machines and different distributions, but Steam still fails to detect it, while other applications do. Htmlgamepad.com functioned without issues. I've also tried Ubuntu and SteamOS, though they don't recognize the device either. Windows is fine, but I prefer avoiding it due to hardware compatibility concerns with other laptop components. Big Picture mode is essential for streaming to my gaming rig.

Steam client version: Latest as of April 9th, 2019
Distribution: Linux Mint 19.1 (Adapted from Ubuntu and SteamOS)
Steps to reproduce the issue:
Plug in the controller
Launch Steam and open Big Picture
Navigate to settings and controller settings

The Nintendo controller and the PowerA controller both require distinct drivers, as is commonly understood.
