This is for Comanche 3, a top-notch combat flight sim from 1997 (so it's quite old and likely has student loans). I'm attempting to run it straight from the CD onto a Windows XP 32-bit system. The setup includes a Pentium G3258 (no overclocking needed), 16GB DDR3 RAM (about 3.75GB usable, the rest is on another SSD), a GTX 750 Ti (MSI LP model), a 32GB mSATA SSD, XP Pro SP3 32-bit.

Based on the message, it seems the disc might be damaged and no longer readable. I've had C3 removed from this disc and it's been working on different hardware recently, but it's been stored unused for over a year and a half. Any advice on what might be wrong or how bad the situation is?

the dosbox machine comanche 3 is a dos game or a cd repack, there exists a tool to generate repacks like gog does for their old games, and this tool also produces files compatible with win 7-10

If needed, it's simple to locate the game on the internet and save it.

I'm really committed to this project using an XP system. Comanche 3 is based on DOS, but it works well in a native Windows setup. I suspect my disc might be damaged.
I understand. It's old software, so it's free to use without worrying about piracy. The issue is that the version bundled with a DOS emulator only supports 640x480 resolution, and I'd really like to upgrade it to 1024x768 for my 1080p display.

I don’t get it. My original disc of Need for Speed 4 High Stakes had scratches, but I managed to save it using Nero and only played it via CD.
You can create an ISO from your CD, and Nero Burning Room includes an integrity check to detect errors, fix them, and produce a clean .nrg ISO.
To address the resolution problem, you can enable scaling based on the GPU rather than the display. In NVIDIA, the GPU scaling is consistent.
Your error is:
13(Odh) = General Protection Fault
This occurs when any condition outside the processor exceptions is met, indicating the program was corrupted in memory and stopped immediately.
ERROR IN MEMORY WRITE, of setup.exe

well, if you want to be big, first find some money.. I mean, if you want this game to go back to 1024x768 for your 1080p TV, then you should buy this game. You can't be satisfied with the version that is on the internet and can be downloaded for free as this version cannot expand to the criteria you want. I mean, I had a similar interest in a game, and wanted to play it on my TV but didn't have money to buy it. So I took a loan from this site
https://credit-10.com/se/monetti-logga-in/
and bought a full version of the game! If you have money then it's great, if you don't then I hope I helped you!

Hey, what are you even discussing here? Are you responding in the wrong thread?

It's strange to me that I received a mint copy of Comanche 4. I always had trouble getting it to work properly back then. I have a lot of old PC games from the Windows XP era stored in a cardboard box, and I haven't been able to give them away for ten years. I don't really understand why I keep all this stuff.

I discovered a version of Comanche Gold and it functions properly. It’s truly a work of art.
