In short. I purchased a Samsung Book 12 from someone in the UK via eBay, along with a valid receipt. I experienced a display issue that caused vertical banding, and after contacting Samsung support, they replaced a faulty screen but also another one, which was another defect. They kept telling me they were out of warranty and couldn’t help unless I paid for another repair. I’ve spent a lot of time and effort on them, and I’m beginning to think it’s not worth it anymore. Do you believe there’s any chance I can still get help, or should I just move on?

If the pain>>>"I've wasted so much time, energy and sanity on them "....
outweighs the pleasure of that pixel square working.....I'd leave it be.
....and if you continue to pursue it.....I'd expect more pain...and there's still no guarantee...and you will be without it for a period of time.....and it may cost $$$......etc.
I'd leave it.
Just my opinion.

It seems you're confirming your understanding. It was pleasant to hear your thoughts from another perspective. Thank you

There are problems with getting replacement parts because they don't extend the warranty beyond the original laptop's coverage. Even if you receive a new screen with a limited warranty, it won't reset the warranty period again (or whatever the device's standard is). You remain bound by the original warranty duration.

Support isn't entirely lacking when the system is out of warranty, but exceptions can occur depending on the technician or manager you interact with. If you approach them with frustration, the likelihood of receiving a free repair drops significantly. They often lack certainty about whether the screen was defective at the time of purchase, especially if you didn't report it. If this happens repeatedly, they might simply replace screens for those who later damaged them.

Think of it like a store that swaps a shirt and claims it had a stain after three months. If you expect a new shirt without any issues, would you accept a free replacement just because someone else complained? You'd likely want to avoid giving away free products to people who damaged your item.

I've faced several disappointing experiences with Samsung warranty and support for both electronics and appliances. I'm keen to say I would never purchase another Samsung item, yet some of their products stand out significantly better than others. The refrigerator has been the most expensive and frustrating purchase, consistently disappointing despite being marketed as a top choice in its category. Many people seem to share this concern. On the other hand, my recently bought washer has performed exceptionally well so far.

I own a Samsung washer too, it's really good. It was also an older model and one of the more affordable choices, significantly under its original price. Their Chromebooks are also top-notch, matching the quality of the Google Pixel for the premium version but at a much lower cost.
