I upgraded from a 1080 Ti to a 3080 and immediately felt limited in many games, even with a 3600mhz Cl34 memory. With Ryzen setups it doesn’t really matter whether you have 6 or 12 cores—FPS changes are usually only around 5%. I suspect you’re mainly hitting CPU limits. After switching to a 5800x, some bottlenecks appeared but they were barely noticeable. Performance dropped by at least 30% in FPS when jumping from 3600 to 5800. Also, your RAM setup isn’t mentioned. Zen 2 performed well with fast RAM and low latency. Even with 1080 Ti in far cry 5 Ultra FHD, I reached 143fps after tuning, while at 3400mhz stock settings I was around 125fps.
Currently running at 3600 MHz with 64 GB RAM. I've tested all options so far—this suggests the CPU might be the issue.
3900X looks promising but seems to fall short in gaming performance. It might be that the 3600 model is too strong or the 3950X is overpriced for that price range. At least with Intel you can notice a clearer distinction. For your consideration, I’d go with 3900X and upgrade to a 5800X3D, which would fit perfectly for something like the 7900X.

You mentioned reinstalling Windows, but didn't clarify the rest of your system configuration—like BIOS settings, chipset drivers, or temperatures. To simplify, revert everything to default settings.
