Issues with reaching 4K at 60Hz using MSI GTX 970 on a TV
Hello everyone, I'm having trouble linking my computer to my TV with the MSI GTX 970. I can't get a smooth 4K@60Hz display, even though my TV supports HDMI 2.0 and I've tried a new cable labeled for 4K@60Hz. The PS5 works perfectly with it. I've checked my settings, OS, and power supply, but no errors appear. I'm also using multiple HDMI cables for 4K@30Hz, yet the issue remains. Could anyone have faced a similar problem or suggest solutions? Your advice would be really helpful. Thanks!
Checking the resolution you're using: 4096x2160 or 3840x2160.
Hi everyone! Thanks for your thoughts. @FloRolf when I choose 4k 60hz in the nividia control panel, the TV stops sending a signal. It only works with 4k 30hz or lower. @jaslion 3840x2160. @problemsolver the TV actually supports 4k 60hz. For instance, my PS5 runs at that resolution and refresh rate. Of course you can verify it! It’s a Panasonic 55cx700. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
Are there any unusual changes in color depth settings? The owner’s guide doesn’t provide detailed specifications. Have you checked if your TV supports the 60Hz option in the Nvidia Control panel? If it shows up, clicking Apply might cause issues and reset the display to 4K at 30Hz. Also, keep in mind that streaming 4K Netflix won’t work even if you manage to get it at 60Hz.
Thanks for the update! The drivers are working well now. I also attempted to remove them using a special uninstaller, but unfortunately it didn’t help. The TV is still up to date. There’s a 60Hz setting available, but applying it causes the screen to go black. I know I can’t stream Netflix in 4K.
Selecting 1080p at 60hz is possible. Confirm the HDMI port you're using matches the PS5's port for testing.
@FloRolf confirmed the 1080p60 signal works. I'm testing with the HDMI I typically use for my PS5.
It appears you have two HDMI 2.0 ports and one HDMI 1.4. Did you miss the intended model? (Source: Les Numeriques website) Updated December 16, 2023 by leclod
