Also couldn't get it back. He ordered the components and didn't have time to put them together right away; we only had a couple of weeks to send the RAM back. We realized it wasn't functioning properly on the last day of the return window, and the company confirmed it was too late due to shipping issues. So we're left with the situation. I'll need to swap my RAM with someone else's and try adjusting the settings myself. Right now he's running at 2400MHz, but I tested it at 3400MHz—just before it crashed, performance improved noticeably in games.

P.S.: Regarding "heatsinks," they're not necessary; they just serve as a visual aid, more like a heat trap in my view. I found a random video about Samsung OEM "E-die" with no heatsinks.
The motherboard is Tier A in this list. The VRM configuration is fairly good.
Hello, I recently discovered that the RAM I bought isn't listed in the QVL for MSI B550-A Pro. I've compared it with other boards using X570 or B550 chipsets, but none included this memory in QVL. With recent BIOS updates, could this compatibility change? Have you tried checking if XMP is enabled (refer to the manual as a-xmp) after updating the BIOS?
It was still not working the before the latest bios came out. I'll ask my friend but he said he's running at stock 2400mhz I think, and doesn't want to bother with it anymore. he is losing some frames tho, better performance at +3000mhz but not stable, crashes pretty fast at basically anything over 2400mhz. voltage, cl settings are irrelevant all of them in any configuration. just stock speed is stable, absolutely nothing else. weird. will not ever buy a motherboard and ram that are not specifically compatible. this is a crap problem in the PC world and it's not correctly addressed after all these years. this is not some RAM that's bought on some shady electronics shop.

I faced questions from three staff members who didn’t grasp that this isn’t a local issue—it’s a pattern where RAM on AMD systems often fails (perhaps not by chance, since none of the b550 or x570 boards in my area include it in their updated QVLs). In my view, the BIOS is less likely to be the cause. AMD has listed this RAM for Ryzen processors on their site, and I’ve seen someone claim it works fine on an ASUS B550 Tuf gaming board, though it’s still not included in that board’s QVL. Because I can’t send back the RAM, I’m choosing the Intel 12th gen line, as all their local boards list it in QVL.

Currently, manufacturers can claim performance at 3600MHz/CL16 only under specific conditions. Implementing a standard could compel them to offer 2400MHz options or allow mentions like "may reach up to 3600MHz/CL16 depending on the motherboard."
This price is above $200 locally, which equals more than $400 for a 32GB unit.
The recent bios update (7C56vAB) appears to fix the problem. I installed it last night and successfully played games without any issues at 3600mhz/cl16 using the default XMP profile.
