I own four RAM modules: two Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Vengeance RGB PRO AMD in Dual Channel, and two Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 2400MHz CL14 Vengeance LPX in Dual Channel. My AMD Ryzen 5 2600X is stock, and I use the ASUS PRIME B450M-A. The problems I face are attempting to overclock two sticks to at least 3200MHz, but the maximum I reach is 2933MHz. Going beyond that causes my PC to crash repeatedly, resetting all BIOS settings back to defaults.

What concerns me is that my motherboard claims support for up to 3200MHz overclocking, yet even trying to push it to 3000MHz results in crashes and a full reset of BIOS settings.

I removed two sticks at 2400MHz and kept the other two at 3600MHz, but still couldn’t exceed 2933MHz without issues.

Do you have updated BIOS for your motherboard to ensure compatibility with the newest AGESA specifications?

You'll be thrilled with 2933 on 2400 memory sounds—it's going to be great!

I've confirmed the current bios configurations. The 2933mhz setting is sufficient at the moment. I attempted to adjust the 3600mhz RAM to 3000mhz without the 2400mhz RAM, but it didn't work as expected, though it's acceptable for now.

It's important to confirm whether BIOS version 2202 is currently active.

I understand, I meant to refer to the version, not the settings. Thank you for clarifying. And yes, I do have that version.

It's the Zen+ CPU you're using. They seldom reach 3200, usually staying around 2933. Zen 2 performs better, and I'm confident the 4000 series will improve further.

Zen 1 seldom reaches 3200 Mhz. The Samsung B-die was quite popular back then. Almost all the RAM available offered higher speeds. Zen+ performs a bit better, but I wouldn't anticipate 3600 Mhz either. That's achievable on Zen 2, though. Generally speaking, according to what I remember.

My perception of Zen+ (which includes the 2600x) generally allows reaching 3200, though your specific setup might not. I've noticed some users achieving 3600 with a Zen+ CPU. My own experience shows a 2600x with a memory clocked at 3400 could fail above 3466. You might want to try the Dram Calculator if you're willing to put in the effort. That was what it required for me to stabilize at 3400.
