Hey, I encountered an issue with your RAM speed settings. Your configuration includes a Ryzen 7 3800X CPU, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard (latest BIOS), and 4x Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 3600C18 modules. The other two sticks have Samsung DRAM. The GPU is an RTX 3070 with Gainwind Phonix OS and Windows 10 21H1. When you enable XMP, the RAM only shows 2133 MHz, but you want it at 3600 MHz for stability. Running at 3200 MHz is more stable but still causes crashes. The crashes usually appear as a `page fault in nonpaged area`. I tried lowering the frequency, and now it's running at 3200 MHz with better stability, though issues persist.

Verify the version details on the micron models—Samsung may not be the best here except for Bdie, but this low-bin version probably outperforms it in terms of microns. These chips are likely around 8Gbit revision, making them a solid choice over the Bdie ones. The IMC should be lighter and more suitable for overclocking within this range, even if the overall build quality isn’t exceptional. OC performance might not skyrocket, but it’s still decent at least in this category (though it could be worse if it’s Bdie). Just keep an eye on the IMC specs when hunting for used parts—match the model numbers to find a good match.

Only Zen3 on X570 or B550 supports stable performance above 3600Hz with full four-slot usage, and even then the RAM must match. B450 and X470 reach their limits around 3200-3466 for four slots, potentially hitting 3600 if the CPU is a strong Zen3. Zen2 typically handles 3000-3200, while Zen+ struggles with four slots even at 2800-2933. Four slots put a strain on the CPU’s memory controller.

Thanks for your responses. I won't replace the RAM modules with different ones since I can find them at a reasonable price, and I don't expect to get even cheaper this time. I'll keep an eye on the market in the future and see if I can find something better. Right now, I'm testing at 3000MHz, running MemTest, and just playing a bit—no crashes so far. Appreciate your advice. Will try it out and see how it goes. Would upgrading to a B550 or X570 be worthwhile? For context, most of my PC components are used except storage, so I'd also consider buying a used motherboard if that matters.

You'll need to identify the specific RAM model. Memory Thaiphoon and Aida64 can assist with this. Samsung B-DIE works well, while other Samsung options aren't as effective. Just test different numbers like 1212 and 2121 to see what fits.

I would choose the top option since it should be one-sided. Larger chips. Composition 2048, the other 1024. Although both are outdated. You can see the JEDEC DIMM label at 2133. Both are only XMP certified for 1799.

Maybe the RAM you're using right now isn't working properly, which stops it from reaching the desired speed. The "page fault in nonpaged area" issue might stem from problems like damaged or corrupted memory, incorrect drivers, or Windows missing files expected in that section.
