I have a ZTE F609 router from my ISP. The main challenge is setting up port forwarding for a Minecraft server. According to the guide, the configuration should resemble something like this; Enable [checked] Name [anything] Protocol [both] WAN Host Start IP Address [N/A] WAN Host End IP Address [N/A] WAN Connection [omci_ipv4_ppoe_1] (the actual value isn't specified but matches what I'm using, the alternative is [omci_ipv4_dhcp_2]) WAN Start Port [3074] (as seen in Xbox Live examples) WAN End Port [3074]. Enable MAC Mapping [unchecked] LAN Host IP Address [192.168.1.20] (static) LAN Host Start Port [3074] LAN Host End Port [3074]. My settings match, but the port is 25565—the Minecraft port. The issue is figuring out what I'm doing incorrectly and how others can join. This is my Server Properties, focusing mainly on letting friends connect to the server. Mine I'm working with: Server Properties, max build height 256, server IP 192.168.1.20, level seed gamemode 0, server port 25565, enable-command-block true, allow-nether yes, rcon disabled, permission level 4, whitelist off, prevent proxy connections off, generator settings resource-pack=player-idle-timeout=0, world mode, etc. How do I fix this? And what should my friends use to reach the server?

When port 25565 is used by your server, it should be forwarded as well. Consider checking alternatives like No IP to simplify connections for others. Typically, you install the software on your machine, which monitors IP changes from your ISP and assigns a convenient URL. This avoids repeatedly searching for the WAN IP when friends can't connect. Also, depending on your server's operating system, you may need to tweak firewall settings on the local machine. Windows XP SP2 includes a built-in firewall, and some Linux distributions offer similar protection. Using Himachi can help keep the server more private if needed.

I've tried hamachi before, but it doesn<|pad|> to be avoided moving forward. Turning online mode off only alters the login account type, but that won<|pad|>'s be unable to connect at all. @Donut417 port 25565 is what I'm directing through my router. I've confirmed No IP is enabled, which is useful when the server starts up, though it's not feasible right now. On any port checker with the server active, it indicates the server is closed, which supports what my friends can't join. This is the current configuration for port forwarding on my router.

Think about omitting the Server-ip field in your server settings. I haven’t needed to adjust it before. Also, agree with Donut’s suggestion to verify the firewall on the machine hosting the servers. Which operating system is being used for the server? An option to replace NOIP without needing software on your PC is FreeDNS, which I’ve tried successfully.
