Issues with performance following a hardware upgrade
Hello. I'm experiencing some performance problems after upgrading my computer. I recently installed an Intel Core i5 12600KF, ASUS PRIME H610M WIFI D4, 2x8 Gb Kingston FURY Beast 3200mhz and a Kingston Fury Renegade PCie M.2 NVME SSD. It's paired with a Gigabyte 3070TI and a 1000w EVGA Supernova PSU. Previously I had an i7 6700k, MSI Z170A, 16gb 2800mhz DDR4 and an 8-year-old SSD. At 1440p resolution, I see 40-60 fps in games like MW2 and The Hunter++. I've tried various benchmarking tools but results differ. Sometimes the whole system freezes during gaming, forcing a restart. I've reinstalled Windows on the new SSD, updated drivers, enabled XMP, checked power plans, and flashed the BIOS. Any advice?
Typically, most B660 boards feature less powerful VRM, while your selected H610 model performs even worse.
The graphics score should fall between 14,000 and 15,000 in 3DMark Timespy. Your unit only slightly exceeds half of that range. The CPU performance is around 13,000, while yours is 11,000—this might be linked to the motherboard. There could be an issue hindering your GPU from operating optimally. Are you possibly enabling V-Sync continuously?
Attempted DDU and updated drivers, yet issues persist in TimeSpy. How can I verify if V-sync is active? The G-sync setting appears to be off in the control panel...
I don't have RivaTuner installed. The V-sync isn't available in the NVIDIA control panel. IObot lists some USB devices and sound options, but mostly basic drivers. For the pro version, you'll need Windows Visual C++ development files. There are six of those, plus the last one is Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 4.0.
Check the GPU settings and consider reloading it. A screenshot of GPU-Z can help verify the status.
