Issues with performance across various games?
Hello everyone.
I’m facing a problem with my PC. Last year I purchased a prebuilt system and since then noticed performance problems, including FPS drops and stutters in several games.
I attempted overclocking and undervolting both the GPU and CPU first—using AMD settings and MSI Afterburner, watching tutorials, and checking for adjustments in AMD panel—but nothing resolved the issue.
I also tried overclocking the CPU with Ryzen Master, but it didn’t make a difference.
Most of the difficulties occur while playing League of Legends. My FPS starts high but quickly drops from 165 (due to my monitor’s 165Hz) down to 90–100, making the game feel sluggish and choppy.
I reinstalled drivers via DDU, installed only without AMD Adrenaline, and switched to Windows 11, yet the problem persisted.
I’ve kept an eye on GPU and CPU temperatures: the GPU spikes from 40°C to 60°C at peak usage, while the CPU fluctuates between 40–70°C.
I’ve also noticed my GPU frequency varies even when I set the game to maximum settings and adjusted my minimum to 2600 and maximum to 2700. It still drops to around 200°C.
I also tried running the game at the lowest possible settings, turning everything down, but it still feels like my PC could handle more.
I’m unsure what I’m missing. Please let me know if you have any advice based on my specs.

Hey there,
What bios are you running on your PC? You can check this using CPU-z.
On a side note, get rid of that PSU before it damages your PC components. It's not very good at all. The main reason is, that there isn't hardly a reference to that model, which means it's most likely muck. Looking at the spec sheet, it doesn't supply anywhere near to 600w on the 12v rails. Uggh.
I was a bit unsure about the PSU, but honestly I didn’t give it much thought at the time. Anyway, here’s the mainboard info from CPUZ.

You can access the latest bios here:

The specific one mentioned is: AGESA ComboAM4v2 PI 1.2.0.7 Update (Use F12 Key to update BIOS)
To perform the update, refer to:

Updating the bios might resolve the stutters. A previous bug was reported in earlier versions. Your feedback is welcome.
I already refreshed my bios, that was the first thing that came to mind, but it didn't make a difference.
The main work I did included overclocking the GPU and undervolting it, as well as overclocking the CPU using Ryzen Master. However, once everything was reset back to defaults, nothing changed. There were minor performance improvements, but I'm not keen on messing with overclocks because I don't fully understand them.
I updated my bios, reinstalled drivers with DDU, and also installed a fresh Windows 11. I've been monitoring the metrics, and so far I can see the GPU temperatures are between 45-60°C, while the CPU stays around 70°C max. The CPU voltage is at 1.35V, whereas the GPU runs between 1080-1110V. I also noticed the CPU is consuming more power. Even if I set the minimum to 2600MHz and maximum to 2700MHz with AMD tuning for the GPU, the frequencies fluctuate a lot, sometimes well below the limit. The important thing is that FPS becomes stable initially, but after 10-15 minutes in games it drops significantly, even dropping below 100.
Did you reset the CMOS after the BIOS update? Otherwise, you should do it to ensure everything is correct.
