issues with performance
Hey there, I rebuilt my PC recently and the setup looks solid—Ryzen 5 5600G, B580 CPU, 16GB RAM at 3600MHz, NVMe SSD, B550 motherboard, and a 750W Corsair PSU. I’m seeing good performance in BeamNG (1440p at 60fps), but on Code with 1080p low it drops to around 150fps and still feels choppy at about 20fps. The monitor’s refresh rate is 60Hz, which might be the issue, but I also noticed stuttering when I changed the resolution. It’s confusing—anyone have a clue?
Check if your RAM modules fit correctly. Expo/Embed-enabled mode and disabled settings are ready. Test with one RAM stick at a time.
CPU and GPU compatibility is limited, the 5600G supports only Gen3 PCIe, while the B580 only uses x8 lanes. This gives you just 25% of the bandwidth available on Gen4 x16... It’s not enough for optimal performance, especially in multiplayer games. The 5600G ranks as the slowest single-core chip in its generation, which can hinder performance. RAM should still perform well from a stability standpoint, and the motherboard won’t throttle unless overheating occurs. If you encounter a BSOD, run a comprehensive RAM stability check.
I plan to conduct the stability test, but I was considering a 5800x. Thoughts? I can't afford an AM5 at the moment, unfortunately.
