I own a solid laptop that can handle games like Fallout 4 at medium settings, and I have a big Steam library filled mostly with titles I like or want to explore. I’m planning to set up a gaming/programming setup for both fun and an upcoming IT course. The issue is I struggle to stay engaged—most sessions end in just a few minutes. I’ve tried taking short breaks from gaming, but it hasn’t helped. Have others faced this kind of burnout or fatigue? How did they manage it?

It’s just that you don’t want it. There’s no real way to alter the emotion.

It might simply be that you're exhausted from your present library. I balance AAA titles with plenty of indie gaming experiences.

If you're not into reading books or similar activities you like, don't feel pressured to do them just because you want to enjoy yourself. For most games I won't play for a while and then finish a few soon after. Except for Dark Souls, I stick with it all year round <3.

It's interesting I'm looking for games right now, but nothing really catches my attention. Also, your username is great!

Undertale 7 Days to Die Darkest Dungeon could even think about Castle Crashers as a role-playing game.

Occasionally I try what I don’t usually like—it can spark creativity and keep me engaged. Maybe exploring a style I’ve never tried or a fresh online game with friends would be beneficial.

I recall getting Pneuma and didn’t anticipate much, yet I fell in love with it. I wouldn’t have thought a puzzle game would be on my list.

I’ve been feeling a bit bored and tried different approaches—strategies, RTS, 4X games, or even some indie titles. I really enjoy story-rich AAA experiences, but sometimes it’s nice to explore other genres like Prison Architect or Sim City for a relaxed evening. I also like playing Minecraft and just chilling. Occasionally, I prefer intense FPS games all day, just to switch things up.
