Issues with overall performance (CPU or software)
I've experienced slow performance on my PC for some time now. Despite extensive troubleshooting, the issue remains consistent. It's a broad performance concern, but I first noticed it due to frequent FPS drops. Previously, I could play Valorant smoothly at over 280 FPS, though it has since dropped to around 100 FPS even with CPU overclocking. The CPU usage stays low overall, while its frequency remains high at 99-100%. Occasionally the system lags, especially when moving Explorer windows, though the Task Manager shows no activity. The msinfo32.exe process crashed during a sysinfo collection. I've only used software tools like AISuite3 and GameFirstVI for optimization; I'm unsure what's causing it. My Minidump file is empty, so I can't provide details. System specs: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, version 10.0.19045, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, BIOS from American Megatrends, ROG STRIX B550-F motherboard, Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, 256GB PCIe SSD, RTX 3070 GPU.
Fortunately I received the same CPU and motherboard. The main problem isn't performance issues you're facing. I'd first turn off all overclock settings—they're not beneficial here, particularly with a 5600X on a B550 board. If you notice drops in speed and the CPU isn't running at its maximum capacity, the bottleneck likely lies elsewhere. Regarding GPU usage while playing Valorant, performance issues might stem from recent updates increasing game demands or new features like ray tracing being activated. Limits such as Vsync, Freesync, or Gsync could also be contributing factors. Good luck!
