Does it occur with every program or only this one? If it’s just this one, it could stem from incompatibility or the program itself, but if it affects all of them, it might point to an overclocking issue or faulty driver.

It might be a sign the hard drive is failing. If opening files takes much longer than usual—more than a few minutes—that could indicate a problem.
