I recently upgraded my PC with a new CPU and GPU. I also installed a brand new SSD today. It looks like the CPU and GPU aren’t functioning properly compared to when I used the old ones—once I reinstalled them, I could access BIOS but now neither works and I can’t even view the old BIOS image. The RAM, motherboard, and power supply remain unchanged. The system boots with the new components but shows no display at all, matching the specifications of the old machine.

Upgrade your BIOS to the newest release, which could improve performance. You might also have to adjust your BIOS PCIe configuration to 3.0 manually, since the RTX3070 uses PCIe Gen4. Verify compatibility before purchasing additional components. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X370-GAM...upport#cpu For BIOS release details, see: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/X370-GAM...US/support

Thanks! I'll give it a shot with both options. I previously checked compatibility before purchasing, so I'm hoping someone can help me decide. Appreciate the advice!

I can't access external links or check if the thread exists. Could you provide more details or share the content?

You're already using PCIe 3.0, so you don't need to change anything. Just confirm your settings match the requirements for your device.

Occasionally forum members become overwhelmed by simple queries they perceive as basic. They often remain silent. Most people simply lack awareness of what they don’t understand.

Also ensure your new GPU is compatible with the existing CPU before installing the new one. Swap in old CPU, install new GPU, check functionality, update BIOS, and re-test the same setup. Then proceed with a new CPU paired with old GPU, verifying performance. Finally, install a new CPU alongside an existing GPU and confirm everything works.

I misunderstood the message. Could you clarify what you meant?

Many believe users should refresh their bios, but nobody considered your situation. I often suggest updating bios before major upgrades since I know some people skip this step. Updating drivers, windows, or programs is common even among gamers and tech lovers. Still, I should have noticed your post—perhaps due to a name mistake...
