Issues with my latest model.
Issues with my latest model.
Hello. I'm really struggling here, I don't feel like I have all the answers. Though I've worked with computers before, this situation is confusing. I got a new CPU (i5-13600k) and a new motherboard (ASUS Prime Z790-A with Wi-Fi) for about six hours, and it worked perfectly then. But after that, when I turned it on, it only ran for a few hours before everything crashed—games, browsers, and more. Eventually I couldn't even start the computer. After some troubleshooting, BIOS updates, and professional cleaning, it still wouldn't boot on DDR5, showing a red CPU light. Then it switched to yellow and I had to reboot. I tried the i3 12300 on this board, it worked fine. I also tested other DDR4 boards, which worked but caused a blue screen of death. For this CPU, I bought an air cooler (PURE ROCK 2 FX), some said it wouldn<|pad|> to be insufficient, so I got the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360, but the problem persisted. I really need someone to help me out. - Gilbert
You've encountered problems with certain 13th and 14th generation CPU models. Did you purchase a used CPU that had already been repackaged? Maybe you believed you bought a brand new one, but from a questionable seller who neatly resold the used unit. You tried it with a 12th generation chip and it functioned. Then you tried the 13th generation version on a different motherboard, but it failed. In short, if you need warranty support, return the product to the seller and share the specific errors and failures you experienced. Discuss your troubleshooting steps for both the 12th generation CPU and the motherboard issues, and consider asking the seller to provide a 12th generation CPU if they offer alternatives.
You're experiencing an issue where the system boots using DDR4 memory instead of DDR5, even though the CPU is designed for DDR5.
You mentioned that using the 13th generation CPU on another motherboard triggered a blue screen. If it's damaged, it might occasionally boot into Windows but could also produce random errors and crashes. Common issues in Windows often involve decompressing big files during installations, launching games built with Unreal Engine, or compiling shaders at startup. However, other unexpected failures are possible, and sometimes the system may simply fail to start altogether. There isn't a single definitive sign for a degraded CPU; the symptoms vary based on the extent of damage and other conditions.
You're experiencing issues with booting on both DDR4 and DDR5 systems. The lock screen appeared briefly but the system crashed right away. Intel has provided BIOS settings to help, and I'll try those. Thanks for the assistance!
If it's damaged, the repair won't work. The permanent harm is irreversible. Did Intel advise you to return it for repair? They did offer an extended warranty for the impacted models, including the i5 13600k. https://community.intel.com/t5/Processor...-p/1620853 Are you sure you purchased the processor brand new from a reseller?
