Issues with multiple apps after system restore point was applied
My PC experienced a problem where it wouldn't boot correctly, only displaying a grey screen and freezing with the "Not Responding" wheel. I ran a full scan using Dells pre-boot diagnostics, checked CPU, Memory + Extra Memory, Disks, and Screen, performed sfc scannow, and used dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth. All tests were successful in Safe Mode with Networking. Despite this, when trying to reboot normally I still encountered the same grey screen issue with the loading/not responding wheel. As a final option, I used a restore point from one day ago. After loading, some apps (Startup apps, likely set to auto-start from Task Manager) failed to open, but opening them manually worked. The apps that appeared were:
- Microsoft Defender
- Intel Graphics Command Center
- Killer Intelligence Center
I plan to bring the laptop to a repair shop soon for a memory upgrade, but this situation might suggest something more serious. (I've had this laptop for about 5 years – Alienware M17 03R2RY, i7 8750h, RTX 2070MQ.)

It might mean the storage drive is failing or the OS is corrupted. The former can be fixed by swapping the drive, while the latter could require a full OS reinstall.
