Issues with Multi GPU configuration?
Issues with Multi GPU configuration?
Hi guys,
I'm having trouble setting up a PC with both a GTX 1080 and an RTX 3090 Ti. I've tried various solutions but the 1080 boots with a code error 43 in Device Manager, while the 3090 Ti works fine with code 45 but doesn't function at all. After disabling its enable, it's still working. The monitor shows nothing. I've tested different drivers, reinstalled Windows, checked the PSU, motherboard connections, and more. Could anyone suggest a solution?
I'm open to any ideas you might have.
What are the full specifications for this setup? We require the brand and model of every part that's been fitted. Information is essential.
Sorry, I missed these details.
Hardware list:
- Ryzen 7 5800X
- ASUS X570 gaming
- 32GB 4x8 DDR4 at 3600MHz
- ASUS 1080 UHD
- NVIDIA 3090 Ti FE
- Corsair 850W main PSU
- Generic 650W PSU for 1080 only
- 2 M.2 NVMe drives
Software: Windows 10 (current version)
Because I have multiple monitors and a 1080p display, it might seem tricky, but some users manage it easily by simply connecting the cards.
Wire the two pins of the 24-pin connector. I just power on this PSU before the other and then press the power button.
I understand this GPU is designed for more than one monitor, but for some reasons I might face a situation with five monitors, which this GPU can't manage. Even though it seems useless, I really want to be able to use the 1080p resolution.
I think the drivers are causing a lot of issues because different hardware versions are competing for dominance, and then they fail due to conflicts. You might try removing all Nvidia drivers with DDU, install the 3090Ti along with its drivers, restart and check if it works. Then try installing the 1080 without any drivers and see if Windows installs them automatically.
It's what I'm attempting at the moment. The main issue is that the 3090ti isn't functioning properly. Once the system starts up in Windows, it shows for a short time before stopping after some delay or when I press the keyboard keys (though I'm not sure about that). The drivers are set up specifically for the 3090.
The make/model of the PSU connected to the 3090Ti is not specified in the provided information.
