Issues with Msi Z370 A Pro RAM compatibility Problems may arise when installing or updating RAM in this model.
Previously, I had an MSI Z370-A Pro motherboard that experienced a short circuit. After replacing it with an MSI H310M, I installed Tforce Delta RGB Dual RAM at 2666MHz alongside the Z370 and H310. Everything functioned smoothly until recently when I upgraded to an MSI Z390-A Pro. There, I added two Crucial Ballistic dual 16GB 3000MHz RAM sticks, but since they aren’t RGB, connecting my Tforce RAM to the Z390 caused a DRAM LED flashing and occasional blinking with the CPU. When using the Ballistic RAM, the display appears normal, but without it, I see only the DRAM LED and sometimes the CPU activity. I’ve verified the compatibility list, but there’s no mention that Tforce is compatible with the Z390. If anyone has advice, I’d appreciate it. I’m considering pairing two Ballistic and two Tforce modules to reach 32GB total RAM—would that be a viable setup? Also, I’ve tried installing the RAM slots one by one, cleared the CMOS, and updated the BIOS to version 10-10-2020. Note: The Tforce RAM still works fine on the H310M board. I’m confident the RAM slots are functioning properly.
I’ve tried all the options I could, now I’m switching to those ballistic rams. I really want to use my RGB rams though—I was looking for a fix in the forums and even reached out to MSI support, but they didn’t know what to do. I’m stuck without RGB right now until I get some new RAM.
