Issues with Microsoft Flight Simulator graphics
I recently reinstalled MSFS 2020 on my machine after upgrading to an RTX 3060ti from an RX580. The graphics, especially text and straight lines, appear quite blocky and subpar. Even with settings set to High and Ultra at 4k resolution, the difference isn’t noticeable—though it seems slightly worse at higher settings. The same issue shows up in menus and loading screens. When I run the RX580 on the same system, performance improves noticeably, though frame rates drop. The cropped screenshots below illustrate the problem. System specs: Ryzen 3 3300X, RTX 3060ti, 16GB RAM. No overclocking currently. It’s worth noting that the game runs on an ISCSI virtual drive over a 10GbE connection from my freenas system, which doesn’t seem to affect graphics performance. Could there be something wrong with the 3060ti itself? I haven’t encountered the same issues in other titles, including Crysis Remastered. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
It seems your device is showing a reduced resolution on the new card, possibly due to AA settings or rendering issues. The display resolution might be set lower than what's visible.
I figured it out, I adjusted the resolution to 1080p and it worked fine. Then I noticed Windows was automatically switching to 1080p. After reverting it back to 4k in both Windows and the game, everything improved significantly. Now I’m a bit embarrassed.
