Issues with microphone sound clarity on the B450M Mortar Max.
I recently enhanced my PC with a Ryzen 5 3600, a Gigabyte RX 5700 XT Gaming OC, 32GB G.Skill RipJaws V black RAM, and a MSI B450M Mortar Max motherboard. What bothers me most is the microphone input quality despite the good audio output from the board. I use an Antlion ModMic Uni, which I’m certain delivers superior sound compared to plugging it directly into the motherboard. On my previous system and even on a budget notebook, I experienced clearer audio from the mic. With the B450M Mortar Max it remains very noisy, and even with noise reduction enabled, it still sounds poor. I’ve updated the drivers from MSI but haven’t noticed any improvement. Currently, I’m using a low-cost USB sound card under $10 for the mic, which produces significantly better results than connecting it to the board. Is the microphone jack on the motherboard truly so bad, or are there other ways to enhance the audio quality?
Configure the recording device for a sample rate of 44100 Hz and bit depth of 16 bits.
Tbh I don't even think there is something wrong with the jack. It's not like the jack is physically damaged or the microphone quality is too bad to understand what I am saying with it, but it is just way worse than what I was expecting. I just want to know if this is "normal" or if there could really be something wrong with it. I mean on my old motherboard it was also quite bad but that was a cheap as hell ASRock board from like 5 years ago so I was kinda expecting that, the B450M Mortar Max however cost almost twice as much as my old motherboard and the microphone input still sucks...
