You've got a solid build with the Z890 and Intel Ultra 9 258K. The issue seems to be with the memory module—Corsair Vengeance 6000MT CL30 didn't boot properly, and changing XMP settings didn't help. After a CMOS reset, everything works fine, but using slots 2 and 4 still causes problems even with default BIOS. It might be worth checking the RAM for defects or testing with another module to rule out hardware issues. Your system setup looks good overall.

Test one RAM module at a time across every slot.

The suggested options are slots 2 and 4. If 6000MT CL30 isn't effective, consider adjusting one setting—like lowering it to 5800 or changing CL30 to CL32.

The board runs a BIOS version that has seen seven updates since January 2025, with recent versions including F17. Many of these updates address memory compatibility, and the latest release is F17. New boards typically don’t come with the newest BIOS updates.

You need to tolerate delays. Slots 1 and 3 tend to perform less efficiently compared to slots 2 and 4. Occasionally, memory issues arise from the cooler mount, but this hasn't been a common problem with Core Ultra—those are unusual occurrences for such processors.

The cooler mount should work fine—it's an AIO and doesn’t require extra space beyond what’s obvious.

The problem lies in placing your sticks at positions 2 and 4, causing the system to block posting even with integrated or separate graphics.

Could the bent CPU pins be the cause? Also, is the 1851 socket still a problem similar to the 1700 model? (Check the frame...) Edit : it looks like so. Updated November 14, 2025 by leclod
