Issues with low frame rates in CSGO and browser instability on i5-7600K
Issues with low frame rates in CSGO and browser instability on i5-7600K
I have an i5-7600K and today I upgraded it with another 100 MHz, pushing it to 4.3GHz (still a newbie but performed well ;3 xD).
Before it ran at 4.2GHz there were no issues at all, but now after booting up it’s getting about 400 fps on the loading screen (previously I reached 2300 fps and 300-400 in-game).
In-game I’m seeing around 100-200 fps, though rarely hitting 200 on low settings.
Also, when I press ALT+tab my PC seems to crash (even without holding it), and during idle it shows up at 35-38°C max, while gaming peaks at 61°C—so it’s not a thermal problem.
I’ve heard MSi gaming app and MSi command center might be the cause, but even after removing them the same issue persists.
You didn't just adjust the clock randomly. Were you boosting the voltage? Running a stress test? Monitoring the MMO VRM temperature?

You don't just crank up at random. Did you raise the voltage? Did you run a stress test? Did you monitor the mobo VMO temperature?
Of course not, but since I'm new to these things, I set it to auto and my mobo automatically reverts to previous settings. The temp was around 40 during the stress test, and ugh...
I went back to Intel Turbo boost at 4.2GHz, but the same issue still happens.
The mobo lacks any understanding of whether the overclocking is stable. It can only notice if the PC doesn't boot, which provides limited information. Just refer to this guide

And perform it through BIOS
The mobo doesn't know if the overclocking is stable. It only notices if the PC doesn't boot, which isn't very helpful. Just check this guide: http://www.overclock.net/t/1621347/kaby-...statistics. Do it through BIOS. I even reinstalled my BIOS but still have the same problems... what might be causing this issue?
