Hey! I'm just getting back into the game again. It's not great—FPS hovers around 40-50, dropping to about 20 sometimes. When I add mods I get 8GB allocated, vanilla uses 4GB. My CPU is 7700, GPU 1070 OC, with 8GB RAM on Windows 10 (build 19041.264). I think the OS might be the issue since I had similar problems before updating. Java is version 8 with updates 1.8.0 enabled. Settings look pretty advanced but experimental.

It seems Minecraft might be utilizing the built-in graphics capabilities.

Your render distance is configured, and I'm confirming whether you're engaging in single-player mode or connecting to a server. I'll also verify the port your monitor is connected to to ensure it's using the GPU rather than built-in graphics.

It's at number 8, yet it would be funny if a 1070 couldn't cope. My old 380X did better.

Seems to be employing the 1070 format.

Currently runs at 60 FPS, but performance decreases to 40 or even 20 when I start moving and interacting

Fix issues in vanilla by reducing variables, and confirm your modpack has OptiFine installed. Most mods likely need it to function properly.

It's limited to a maximum, but I won't remove the mods because that's why I'm playing again. (new HQM pack types.) CPU and GPU usage shouldn't be too high, though I'll monitor it.

GPU consumption is moderate at 10-15%, CPU usage sits between 50-70 (about 100 during initial map loading), RAM is 12GB with 8GB already reserved. Could the disk be the issue? I'm using an older WD Blue drive.
