Issues with LAG configurations and port visibility on the Netgear GS724TS.
Hello, I purchased an older Netgear GS724TS Gigabit switch at a low price. Now I'm upgrading the network and need to configure a LAG on two ports. I looked through the manual, but it mentions that under LAG Membership you should choose the ports to set up the LAG. However, in the screenshot there are no ports listed. What might be the reason for this, and how can I resolve it?
I think this switch allows you to run PuTTY. It's just my usual method for handling settings. It could offer similar restrictions, but it's another approach to adjusting configurations.
You haven’t found anything about this on the configuration page. I only checked the default ports for SSH, Rlogin and telnet in Putty, which returned the “connection refused” error.
You may need to turn on SSH on the site and remember to use the reply feature to let me know.
Certainly! Here’s a revised version of your message:
Hello once more, this time quoted. Throughout the entire guide, the terms SSH, Telnet, and Rlogin are absent. Could you suggest an alternative approach?
It seems the smart-managed switches lack SSH functionality. The solution involves using the GS752TS model with a NETGEAR Communities account. Accessing the "LAG Configuration" menu provides further options.
It doesn’t allow customizing LAG1 for those ports. They seem like fixed placeholders that need to be enabled. I think the default LAGs wouldn’t have any ports initially, so you’d need to add them. The Membership section would then display active LAGs along with their connections, probably listed under the Master port for each LAG.
From the manual, it seems a port list should appear in the LAG membership menu beneath the membership box in my webui, though it’s missing. I believe a LAG would be set up there because the port settings include a LAG ID column, even though it can’t be edited.
