Issues with Intel Turbo Boost 2.0

Hey there! I’ve been facing an issue with my Acer Aspire 3 laptop, which has the i3 8130U CPU. It’s been with me since 2018, but lately it seems like the turbo boost feature is turned off. I tried everything—no software tweaks, no BIOS changes, even after updating drivers and chipsets. There’s no way to enable it in the BIOS, just like it was back in the early 2000s. I’ve shared some screenshots showing the problem, and it’s really frustrating. The only workaround I found is using a tool called QuickCPU to manually enable turbo boost, but it only works when the system is booted normally. I reached out to Acer, but they didn’t give a clear solution. The performance is still decent thanks to the good thermal design, but now it barely boosts at all—sometimes stuck at 2.2GHz even when I push full CPU usage. The Android version also behaves strangely, only showing boost without letting me control it properly. I’m hoping someone can help me get this back to normal. Thanks for your time!

This means your CPU isn't compatible with Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0, not that Turbo Boost 2.0 is disabled. Visit "All Controls" and verify if turbo boost is active there.

It doesn't work with boost 3.0 since it's an 8th generation processor. I'm not very familiar with technical terms like "all control," so could you clarify where it says that?

You're noticing a current limit warning, but your clock speed is still what you need. It's not a major issue. Good to have it back, whatever caused the slowdown.

I also reinstalled Windows 10, but the issue remains unresolved!

I reinitialized the BIOS and made the update, yet the same outdated BIOS from the 2000s remains. There’s no improvement, it seems like the CPU has completely lost track of the turbo boost feature.
