I downloaded GTA V from Epic yesterday and installed it on my SSD. The game ran smoothly at over 100 FPS during the first mission. Progress continued until the second mission, where Franklin and Lamar drove the white and red cars. Checking my Afterburner+RTSS stats, I saw 70+ FPS but frequent stutters. I struggled to exit the alley without freezing. Driving felt unsteady and it would crash on me. I adjusted settings, changed to Windowed Borderless, set to Normal, cleared the GTA V folder, and capped at 60 FPS. Still no improvement. I recall playing before with a Sapphire RX 560 and no problems. Also, some Ryzen CPUs seem to struggle with low performance but generally hold up well. Things are tough right now.

Temperatures are behaving oddly. Around 55°C according to Ryzen Master, even when Chrome is only running. I'm using the built-in cooler and trying to figure out what's going on.

55c performs well as long as it stays cool during gaming. Have you checked for GPU driver updates or reinstalled them?

haven't attempted a reinstall yet. I plan to check gaming performance under high temperatures and try updating the GPU drivers. I'm also checking out another GTA V discussion thread.

After updating the drivers, I went back to Radeon 20.2.2. It resolved my issues. I had to limit it to 75 FPS since it still stutters at higher speeds, which is quite bothersome.

I recall hearing about it stuttering at a specific frame rate.
