Hey there, friend. I'm struggling with my Gigabyte GTX 970 and can't figure out how to fix the issues. The rest of my setup is documented elsewhere. Whenever I launch games—especially those tagged as tricky—I keep getting this frustrating error: 0x887A0006, which means the device is hanging and the engine shuts down. Epic says they fixed it in their post, but it still happens even after downclocking the GPU. The only workaround I've tried is playing games at ultra-low settings and using GeForce Experience to start them up. That's really annoying because running a game on low settings feels like going back to 2005. The biggest culprit seems to be Ark: Survival Evolved, but it also messes with Foxhole, Cities Skylines, and Stellaris. Anyone else dealing with this? Do you have any tips for a lasting fix besides risking total damage? Also, is it possible that having both Team Red (CPU/Motherboard) and Team Blue (GPU) working together might be the cause?
