Hello, the game appears this way on my laptop and seems to be the only one affected. It also frequently crashes during cutscenes, though I can navigate through them using Vulkan with dxvk. The textures generally fail to render, even though the gameplay itself runs smoothly. The hardware is in good condition—played games recently while traveling, and I just played a long session of Baldur's Gate 3 to confirm. I think this problem might be linked to how the game handles rendering on older GPUs like this one. It’s worth noting that I’m not alone in facing similar issues, and the game had a rough launch overall, with many crashing and rendering problems reported (including flashbang effects).

I only use this laptop when traveling, so I’m not overly concerned, but I remain interested in understanding the cause better. Anyone here has insights on how to track this issue more effectively? It seems challenging because the engine is custom-built, though it might offer some clues.

Here are the relevant details: Intel i76700hq and a GTX 960m. I’ve ruled out disk or file problems by trying multiple installations on different drives.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Important details include intel i76700hq and a gtx 960m. You may wish to omit your laptop's brand, model, and SKU. Verify if there are any pending BIOS updates. Then check for OS update needs. Afterward, use DDU to eliminate all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) from your machine, then reinstall manually using the newest driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command—right-click installer > Run as Administrator. I've already addressed disk/file issues by trying multiple installs on different drives. Where did you obtain the OS installer?

Hello and thank you for the welcome
😊
, everything is up to date and I've already tried removing the drivers and reinstalling them just in case. Everything seems to be working fine so it's pretty much this game only, no irregularities at all on anything else. To be honest It might just be a waiting for a patch kinda situation but I'm still curious lol. I forgot to mention but the issue seems to be affecting people with radically different gpus so it might be something else completely, pretty hard to pinpoint.
When talking about installations I meant the game since I've seen faulty installations producing bad rendering before but on this case it doesn't seem to be related to either the files or the drive speed.
I'll post the full system specs from the steam help page here:
