GPU: Galax 2070 Super
OEM vBios: 90.04.76.40.E7
Flashed vBios: 90.04.76.40.90
CPU: 7800x3d
Mobo: Gigabyte B650M K
Experiencing GPU crashes over the past weeks, temperatures reaching 90°C during intensive operations.
Recently noticed fans failing to run under load; attempts to adjust via afterburner and Galaxy software were unsuccessful.
Tried flashing a MSI vbios to see if it would enable Afterburner control, but no improvement.
GPU has been reseated several times.
Uncertain about next steps in troubleshooting—are the factory fans non-functional?

When the card begins to heat up, give the fan a gentle spin and check if it starts working. It’s likely the fans are no longer functioning. I’ve had to swap out all three fans on my 2080 Ti last year that I gifted to my brother. You also don’t need an MSI BIOS to run the MSI Afterburner software.

I thought MSI bios weren't necessary, just trying random stuff lol.
GPU running at 70c with all three fans spinning but nothing coming out.
Probably time to swap these fans.
😀
edit: any tips on finding compatible fans? The Galaxy 2070s triple fan I own uses 90mm fans.

Try to locate the screw positions on the fans. The only triple fan shown is for the 2080ti, which could be a match. If it doesn’t fit, check Amazon or eBay.

I noticed you're referring to spinning 3 fans, though both vBIOS versions you mentioned are designed for dual fan cards. Using the incorrect vBIOS might cause additional problems such as over-volting the card beyond its capabilities. Could you share the exact model you have? It should be indicated on a sticker at the bottom of your graphics card. Additionally, fans from other brands or models can be used as long as they match the proper mounting positions for screws and wiring connections.

Product Code 27ISL6MDW7GM
Since my last update, I have repositioned all the fan headers on the card, rebooted multiple times with mixed results, and now everything functions properly.
Before my initial post, MSI Afterburner lacked a "fan" submenu in the properties; it now appears and reacts to my fan curve settings.
On the cards PCB (though I’m not certain if the image matches exactly), there are two 4-pin fan headers labeled "fan-s" and "fan-m". When I removed the card earlier, I made sure these connections were secure. During troubleshooting, I found a 6-pin header and decided to reattach it, which likely resolved my problem (see image below).
Currently, I’m still using the 2 fan MSI vBios. Should I revert to the original BIOS or keep it as is?

Ignore it, still okay... I've updated the Nvidia drivers to the latest version and now I can't manage the fans.
