Good morning, I'm working on reducing the latency on my PC, especially for games like Apex Legends. I feel the mouse is acting sluggish and unstable, which affects performance. After following some guides, the system seems more responsive overall, but the issue persists with the Razer Viper Mini mouse. I've tried using LatencyMonitor and MouseTester, and the results from the test show a graph at 1600 dpi and 1000Hz. I'm confused because the data doesn't look right, or maybe I made a mistake. Could you help me figure out what might be wrong? Is the graph normal or is there something incorrect? Thank you!

Do you have additional mice available? Testing different models can reveal consistency in behavior. This helps spot possible problems early.

Thank you for your response. Right now I’m unable to test another mouse, though I plan to do so later. For now, I’d like to figure out what might be causing the issue and check if the graph appears typical. Thanks!

Check your FPS in the game. Adjust the settings to avoid overloading RAM and VRAM. Turn off VSync if enabled, enable exclusive fullscreen, and select DX12 as the graphics option.

Hi, everything seems fine regarding frame rate and VRAM. I have 32 GB of RAM, which I believe is sufficient. The GPU uses about 8 GB, but I’m playing at low settings so there’s no need to worry. For FPS, I consistently hit around 141 FPS without any drops, even when using FreeSync and V-Sync because I dislike tearing and the cap at 141 is just what I expect. For the DX12, I’m not entirely sure it would help, but I’ll give it a try. Thanks for checking—maybe there’s an issue with my mouse or general latency causing this sluggish feel. I’m starting to think it could be an electrical problem, though I don’t know how to fix it. FPS gaming is really frustrating right now, so I’ll have to cope. Have a great day!

Consider lowering texture streaming budget to a minimal level if available. I also rely on freesync without VSync, just manually adjusting FPS. The DX12 is still in beta and may vary across systems; for me it offers higher minimum FPS, so I stick with it. Ensure the game uses fullscreen mode instead of borderless or windowed settings. It's frustrating, but online FPS games often have performance problems.
