I observe that during recording sessions my game runs less fluidly. My frames stay in the mid-200s, and I notice only a slight drop around 5fps when recording. The issue isn’t frame skipping but the overall experience feels less smooth. I’m running at 120Hz and saving to a single WD Black 1TB HDD which also hosts my operating system. Could this setup be affecting performance?

I own an i5 4690K and GTX 970. Recording gameplay works well with FRAPS or Shadowplay, but I also save files to a different storage device from my operating system. (It isn't solely focused on recordings—it also stores some programs, games, etc., since I don’t have another fast hard drive available.)

Of course, there shouldn't be any delays since my FPS remains quite strong. After all, FPS is FPS—if you maintain a consistent rate, it should run smoothly regardless of the number.

Would you mind rephrasing the question for me?
