Issues with game crashes often stem from Nvidia driver problems.
Details: Ryzen 7 5800x with 32GB RAM, 3070ti MSI x-trio cooler, HX 850 PSU, 980 Pro power supply, 1TB M.2 SSD. Games experiencing crashes after roughly an hour of play. Sometimes crashes occur even when closing all other open programs. I consulted moderators and support teams on official Discord channels, ran memory tests, adjusted XMP settings, reinstalled drivers, verified game files multiple times, but the issue persists. Display cable changed, slots swapped, still no resolution. The problem starts with a black screen for half a second, followed by freezing and stuttering audio. Game sounds freeze, screen freezes briefly, then the game window closes on its own. Graphic settings reset unexpectedly, and overall performance drops significantly. Task Manager shows no GPU activity. Nvidia GeForce details disappear upon restart. The issue has been ongoing for about a month now. Attached are some error logs from various programs.
Start with DDU, then reinstall the driver via a standalone installer.
These issues are unique to each game. If you're not sure, just try DDU, otherwise avoid poorly optimized, nearly completed games.
previously struggling games ran smoothly without issues. main specs included a Ryzen 7 5800X with 32GB DDR4 4100 RAM, a Noctua dual fan cooler, an MSI X-TRIO 3070TI case fan, and an MSI MEG X570 AC power supply. The system used a Samsung 980 Pro heatsink with a 1TB M.2 SSD. Everything seemed fine until now, but I’m unsure how to adjust settings properly. No official guide exists for this configuration, so I’d appreciate a detailed walkthrough if possible.
It could lead to problems if DOCP is active... maybe? The Ryzen 5800X seems better suited for fast RAM these days, and it shouldn't trigger VRAM issues.
I'm not familiar with DOCP, I attempted to turn off XMP, but that didn't resolve the issue.
Sure, I can help with that. It's common to see variations like DOCP and XMP across Intel and AMD systems. For testing, switching to a different PCIe slot for the GPU is a good approach.
